Age limit: Candidate should be born between 01 Nov 2002 – 30 Apr 2006 (inclusive of both dates).
Educational qualifications: Candidates must be completed their intermediate 10+2 examination with Maths & Physics and at least one of these subjects:- Chemistry/ Biology/ Computer Science from the recognized Board of School Education.

Scheme of Examination:
(a) The exam will be conducted on a computer, and there will be a total of 100 questions. Each question will carry 1 mark.
(b) The question paper will be available in both Hindi and English languages, and it will consist of multiple-choice questions.
(c) The question paper will be divided into four sections: English, General Awareness, Mathematics, and Science.
(d) The difficulty level of the question paper will be equivalent to the 10+2 standard.
(e) The duration of the examination will be one hour.
(f) There should be a penalty of negative marking for each wrong answer that is given by the candidate. If a candidate provides an incorrect answer to a question, a penalty of one-fourth (0.25) of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted.
(g) Candidates must pass each section individually, as well as achieve an overall passing score. The Indian Navy will determine the specific pass marks for each section and the overall aggregate score.
Stage 2 – Written Examination, Physical Fitness Test, and Medical Examination
Written Examination:
Candidates who qualify for the INET examination will be invited to participate in Stage II through the call letter, which consists of a written examination, physical fitness test, and medical examination. Medical Standards to Qualify for the Examination:
- Gender: Any of the candidates if found to have predominant characteristics of the opposite gender he/she may be disqualified as unfit.
- Pregnancy: If a female candidate is found to be pregnant, she will not be eligible and her application will be rejected. It is important that candidates should not have conceived at the time of reporting or during the entire four-year tenure. If a candidate is found to be pregnant at any point during the training or engagement period of four years, appropriate action will be taken, which may include dismissal or removal from the program.
- Height Standards: The minimum height standard to be eligible for males is 157 cm and for females is 152 cm.
